The Kent State baseball team hosts Pittsburgh on Tuesday night as part of the Black Squirrel Night promotional giveaway at Schoonover Stadium.
The first 300 fans in attendance will receive a powder blue t-shirt with the Tree City Black Squirrel logo. The idea is the brainchild of Assistant AD for Communications Dan Griffin and Asst. Director of Marketing TJ Roward. The design was done by Scolin MacLean from The Golden Flashes Club. This is the second year of the promotion, as last year gold shirts were given out. The idea is inspired by the one off alternate branding nights that minor league baseball teams have done in the past.
On the field the Flashes will look to keep the momentum going from this past weekend, that saw them take two of three from Eastern Michigan and score 41 runs in three games. They will be looking to avenge a 12-8 loss at Pittsburgh back on March 19.
JOHNSON POTW: Kent State outfielder Josh Johnson was named MAC Player of the Week for his efforts last weekend. Johnson hit .455 with 2 HR and 9 RBI. In league play, his .426 average and 20 runs batted in is good for third in league games only.
