Sullinger’s status still unclear

Kent State Head Coach Rob Senderoff went on the record this weekend with the Akron Beacon Journal to discuss the plans for guard Jalen Sullinger this season.

Sullinger entered the transfer portal after the season, and enrolled at Furman and went through summer sessions with the Paladins.

In August, Sullinger reenrolled with the Golden Flashes. As we accurately reported in August, the plan at the time was for Sullinger to redshirt, but he could compete at any time if circumstances came up.

“That decision will probably be made here in the first few weeks of the year,” Senderoff told the Akron Beacon Journal. “There have been some changes to the roster since he came back. There are some different circumstances when he came back in August, but I am not exactly sure where that stands today.”

With lingering injuries in the backcourt to Brendan Moss and other injuries that may exist, could open the door for Sullinger to make his way back into the fold.

After being selected to the All-MAC Second Team in the preseason poll, fans were wondering and questioning if he would compete this year.

Stay tuned.
